- Greetings,
- Please welcome Bart Christner as he joins the Southeast Center faculty this summer to teach in the "Color Processes and Materials" and "Field Survey of Professional Photography" classes. He has extensive experience in photography and graphic design and is a valued colleague of the Center. For nearly twenty years Barton James Christner has been a new business developer, marketing and creative director, and partner in several media, interactive marketing, visual and graphic design corporations.
- His experience includes reporting to the President of Dick's Sporting Goods, leading a staff of forty, to build their first 40,000 SKU ecommerce website, overseeing a studio of 16 employees, shooting over 20,000 product photographs in 12 months. Also, he developed, managed, and delivered, multi-million dollar marketing and creative contracts including projects with IBM, Bayer, Rite Aid, the NFL Rightsholder's, large banks, and mega-hospitals.
- Weekends, he operates his own local small business, a digital media firm focused on digital photography, shooting covers and articles for The Observer Reporter, Suburban Living Magazine, The News Journal, and MyTopiaCafe.com among several others. Dozens of his students have become part of this work with his clients, subsequently locating part-time, or finding full-time careers with area corporations like the News Journal and DME, a fast-growing Daytona Based Direct Marketing firm.
- Professor Christner earned his terminal degree, a Master of Fine Arts in Digital Media, and his Bachelors of Science in Graphic Communications (lithography, flexography, screen, and gravure, as well as photography and pre-press technologies) He is a full-time professor in Digital Media (digital imagery, print design, web development, 2D/3D animation) within the Visual Arts Department at Daytona Beach College.
