- Dear Dr. Lombardo,
- This letter is in support of Professor Barton J. Christner. Professor Christner has been instrumental in providing an academic environment to the student population. It is through his diligent commitment to teaching, scholarly work, and most importantly, his impact on his students’ lives that make Professor Christner an invaluable faculty member to Daytona State College.
- Barton is passionate about teaching. He is dedicated to reaching, nurturing and having a positive impact on his students’ lives. Students acknowledge and respect his energy and determination to help them become stronger individuals.
- I am impressed with how he uses a number of pedagogies to get students involved. Although he emphasizes that knowledge is important, he also stresses the fact that learning how to gain knowledge is key to independent learning, while being a steady-guiding influence. In short, Professor Christner wants students to be able to become critical thinkers and perform to their utmost ability.
- His service to Daytona State College is invaluable both outside and inside academia. While serving on various committees and fulfilling his teaching obligations, Barton finds a way to connect with fellow faculty and staff members. On example would be the soccer club that is currently being created. When possible, Professor Christner takes time out of his busy schedule and participates playing and coaching soccer at the Deland campus. His presence on the field is just another way in which Barton connects with Daytona State College and its students.
- Thus, Professor Barton Christner is professional, trustworthy and sincere. Mr. Christner is an invaluable asset to the college community. Thank you for considering this letter in support of Barton Christner.
- In academic excellence,
- Andrew B. Forbes
