I met Bart during his tenure as Associate Professor of Digital Media and Associate Professor of Photography at Daytona State College.
He was a one-man digital media show housed within a “state-of-the-former-art” photography department after the visual image muse had left the darkroom for her new universal residence on the Internet.
DIGITAL MEDIA: A VISUAL ENCYCLOPEDIA is a showcase to Barton James‘ tireless efforts. He designed, delivered, taught, and shot not only the photographs, but the production websites, videos, animations, print materials and beyond, for each and every company represented here.
Bart would teach as many as nine courses at the same time, all hours of the day and evening, and then show up at a local café where over half the patrons were eager to talk to him. This popularity grew from his attitude toward others, that he eagerly devoted time and skills every chance he got helping others with whatever he could do.
That same eagerness to give of his skills to others is everywhere evident in this book. I’m proud to provide the introduction to his well-crafted series of books.
