- This letter of support and recommendation is being written for Barton James Christner with great admiration for his talent, experience and ability to reach students. I would like to strongly recommend Bart, as I call him, for a full time position at any educational institution that he feels is worthy of applying to. Please be advised that I would love for him to stay in this region to continue developing students in our broadcast technology program, but I understand the desire for opportunities to expand and explore new adventures.
- Working side-by-side with other faculty members, international liaisons, community professionals and television executives, Bart has been instrumental in the development of a credit course that has graduated over hundred students using his curriculum while teaching the classes on the campus of Daytona Beach Community College now Daytona State. WCEU now WDSC TV-15 has used his expertise to move forward on multiple initiatives for broadcast including but not limited to live and live-to-tape productions in studio, weekly live call-in programs, on-location productions involving students and staff from his classes, instruction and training videos for the college and developing curriculum for international students.
- Mr. Christner unknowingly has driven initiatives that helped to create partnerships with Bethune-Cookman University, a historic Black College in the area, Stetson University and Embry Riddle. The students that he taught continue to be utilized as reporters and production support personnel to create, write and edit features while working alongside staff professionals.
- WDSC-TV Ch.15 is viewed throughout ten counties within Central Florida reaching 1.4 million households in the Orlando, Daytona Beach and the Melbourne ADI. It would be my pleasure to recommend Barton James Christner for a position in academia with the hope that he would stay in touch with us to continue new relationships within his new environment. I have no doubt that he will have an immediate impact on the students, area professionals while helping develop relationships and unique partnerships among students, college/universities, non-commercial and commercial broadcasters.
- If there is any additional information that may be needed in regards to Mr. Christner and his work ability and or teaching credentials, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
