"Academic programs benefit from leadership, volunteerism, and program management experience, working eagerly with educators and youth. After twelve years experience as youth program management coordinator at Penn State's Cooperative Extension, I greatly appreciate the challenging but long-term impact of statewide events I had coordinated, 4-H (Head, Hands, Heart, Health) or FFA (Future Farmers of America). The Youth Engaged in Technology (YET) program used website development, geospacial (GPS), photography (digital) and nanotechnology, as well as community partnerships to enhance young people's marketable skillsets. Barton James operated our afterschool program within the Washington County School District, collaborating with non-profits, having students develop their organization's websites and presentations."
